ISRC Hosts Soybean Photo Contest

The ISRC recently hosted a photo contest among its ISU research affiliates, staff and students. After receiving 50 excellent entries, it was a daunting task to narrow down the winners.

In no particular order, here are our top picks:

"Soy Storm" - Fernando Marcos (Agronomy)

"Soy Frog" - Juan Pablo Barrientos Gutierrez (Plant Pathology, Entomology and Microbiology)

"Wet Soy" - Maria Luiza Schmidt (Plant Pathology, Entomology and Microbiology)

"Soy Canopy" - Maria Luiza Schmidt (Plant Pathology, Entomology and Microbiology)

"Soy Pods" - Murilo Freitas (submitted by Natan Seraglio) (Agronomy)

"Soy Soy Cover Crop" - Carolina Freitas (Agronomy)

The winning photos will be featured in upcoming ISRC print projects and the winners each received an ISU Dining gift card for their efforts. And, since we had such great success, the ISRC plans to hold another photo contest later this fall in the hope of capturing some soybean harvest photos! Thank you to all who took the time to enter!

Six photos shown: approaching storm clouds over a soybean field, a small frog on a soybean pod, wet soybeans after a rain, soybeans photographed from the ground showing the soybean canopy, fingers holding four soybean pods with a soybean field in the background, a soybean field with cover crops and a cloudy sky.
