Iowa Soybean Association Approves Additional Research Funding, Presents Awards

The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) Productivity Committee and full Board met September 3-4, 2025 and approved an additional research project titled “Investigating Waterhemp Control with Glufosinate plus 2,4-D – What is Going On?”, submitted by Wesley Everman, assistant professor of agronomy at ISU. The board had approved six projects at its July board meeting, which can be viewed in the ISRC’s July newsletter.

Also at ISA’s September meeting, board members honored ISU President Wendy Wintersteen and ISRC Director Greg Tylka. ISA President Brent Swart presented President Wintersteen with ISA’s Enduring Impact Award ”in recognition of more than 40 years of exceptional service to Iowa State University, Iowa soybean farmers and agriculture, your visionary leadership and unwavering advocacy for agriculture will have a positive, lasting impact on Iowa’s communities and generations of farm families.” ISRC Director Tylka was presented with ISA’s Distinguished Service Award “in recognition of 35 years of exemplary service at Iowa State University in support of Iowa’s soybean farmers, dedicated efforts as a teacher, researcher and industry advocate for improving the production and profitability of soybean farming, benefitting soybean farmers and consumers in Iowa and around the world.”
