The ISRC served as a sponsor for the National Soybean Nematode Conference in Savannah, GA, December 14-16, 2022. ISA Senior Director of Research and North Central Soybean Research Program Executive Director Ed Anderson provided opening remarks. ISRC Director and ISU professor of plant pathology, entomology and microbiology Greg Tylka was a keynote speaker discussing the challenges and opportunities in advancing soybean nematode management. ISRC Industry Partner representative and BASF Senior Program Leader in Trait Research Julia Daum from BASF also served as a keynote speaker describing a new transgenic approach to enhanced nematode resistance in soybeans. Scientists from ISRC industry partners Bayer, Corteva, FMC, GDM, Nufarm and Syngenta also attended and participated in the conference.

The conference theme was "Advancing Nematode Management for the Future" and the program highlighted the value and impact of research, the power of public-private partnerships, and the importance of fostering the next generation of young professionals to meet the continued challenges facing soybean growers in the fight against nematodes.

The conference was organized by the Soybean Cyst Nematode (SCN) Coalition. The ISRC along with soybean centers from Southern Illinois University, Purdue University, University of Missouri, and Ohio State University sponsored a luncheon on the first full day of the conference.
